Bronchitis is a brief and severe inflammation of the lung’s air passages. This takes place when an infection or other intruder causes the windpipe and other airways to be inflamed.
A case of bronchitis usually occurs during the cold/flu season, sometimes in conjunction with an upper respiratory infection, an infection above the lungs normally caused by viral or bacterial infections. Targets include the throat, sinuses, trachea, larynx, and/or bronchi.
Causes include:
Symptoms related to bronchitis are sometimes the same symptoms as the common cold. The quick list of symptoms include: chills, nasal congestion, soreness of the throat, muscle aches, and nasal congestion.
Dry coughing or phlegm-inducing cough may be a symptom of Bronchitis. Large productions of phlegm can be dangerous.
Coughs lasting more than a few weeks may result in soreness in the chest and abdominal region. The chest wall can become injured if coughing becomes increasingly more severe. Additionally, inflammation of the air passages can cause wheezing and shortness of breath.
If you have difficulty breathing, contact emergency personnel and see a doctor immediately.
Even when treating common illnesses and injuries, doctors can make serious and life threatening mistakes. If you have been injured by a careless or negligent medical professional while seeking treatment for bronchitis, or any other illness, contact the Las Vegas personal injury lawyers of William Palmer & Associates, P.C. at 702-888-2222 to learn more about your legal rights and options.
