State officials are examining the cause of two deaths at a Las Vegas psychiatric hospital to determine if the facility is at fault by not providing adequate medical care, authorities said. A man in his 50s had a medical emergency, authorities said, and died at the hospital. A woman in her 50s went into cardiac arrest and died at the facility after an employee administered CPR.
Investigators said the deaths appear to be related to preexisting medical conditions and were not suicides. Authorities said investigators are probing to see if the facility could have done anything to prevent the deaths.
