A Las Vegas man died Thursday when his motorcycle crashed into a car near Columbia Falls.

The unidentified 46 year-old man was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on U.S. Highway 2 shortly after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, police say. The accident occurred a Ford Taurus attempted to turn onto the highway and drove into the path of the motorcycle. The two vehicles collided near mile marker 132, southwest of Columbia Falls.

According to highway patrol, the motorcycle’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. He was wearing a helmet, police say.

The driver of the Taurus, a 31 year-old Columbia Falls man, and his passenger, a 37 year-old Kalispell man, were not injured in the crash. They were both wearing seat belts.

Montana Highway Patrol officials continue to investigate the car accident.
