According to officials with the Clark County Coroner’s Office, 19 year-old Allen Paul Layno, of Laughlin, was traveling south on a gravel road in a Pontiac Grand Am shortly before 4:00 a.m. Tuesday when the fatal accident occurred. The 17 year-old female driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, causing the car to roll over and eject Layno, police say. The accident occurred in the desert area west of Needles Highway and Bruce Woodbury Drive.

According to the coroner’s report, Layno died from blunt force injuries suffered during the crash. The drive sustained only minor injuries in the accident, investigators say.

The Las Vegas Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the crash.

According to officials with the Las Vegas Police Department, the accident occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Losee Road, just south of the Gowan Road intersection. The preliminary investigation indicates that the man was operating a 2004 pickup truck southbound on Losee Road at a high rate of speed when the pickup truck drifted off the roadway and struck a steel power pole west of the road’s edge. The driver was ejected from his vehicle.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene emergency responders.

Excessive speed appears to be a factor in the crash, police say, but investigators are trying to determine whey the vehicle left the roadway. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week.

According to the Clark County coroner’s office, 49 year-old Barnaby Nolan died from multiple blunt force trauma. Nolan was crossing Pecos Road, outside of a crosswalk and against the pedestrian traffic signal, when the accident occurred, Las Vegas police say.

Authorities say a 2006 Ford Mustang was traveling east on Charleston and struck Nolan in the center lane shortly before 12:15 p.m. Nolwan was transported to University Medical Center following the crash, where he was pronounced dead later that day.

According to a statement released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office, 59 year-old Timothy R. McGhie died from multiple injuries sustained in an accident Sunday. Las Vegas police say the accident occurred shortly before 9:00 p.m. when McGhie tried to cross Lake Mead Boulevard, north to south, west of Valley Drive.

McGhie was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident. He was struck by a Ford Explorer and struck again by a white Sport Utility Vehicle, which fled the scene before emergency personnel arrived, police said. McGhie was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

According to officials with the Las Vegas Police Department, 64 year-old Maria Perez-Espinoza was northbound on Page Street when she stopped at the intersection of Stewart Avenue, near Lamb Boulevard. Police say Perez-Espinoza stopped at a stop sign in her 2001 Chevrolet Malibu before pulling into the path of a 2003 Nissan Altima traveling east on Stewart. The Nissan struck the Chevrolet on the driver’s side.

Perez-Espinoza was transported to a nearby hospital after the crash where she was later pronounced dead. A 70 year-old passenger in the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries in the crash. The driver of the Nissan, 31 year-old Alejandro Gallaga-Arroyo of Las Vegas, also suffered minor injuries. A 13 year-old passenger in the car was also injured.

The incident was the 36th fatal accident in the Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction this year.

According to police reports, Daniel Melin has been charged with driving under the influence with accident, driving under the influence of drugs, and hit-and-run. Police say Melin told them he was taking an opiate for back pain.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Lake Mead and Racho. Melin’s car crashed into an unoccupied bus stop shelter on the corner, destroying the structure. The Regional Transportation Commission said, in a statement, that they will be examining the location of the bust stop to see if it needs to be moved.

According to officials with the Metro Police, the accident occurred at the intersection of Washington Avenue and 21st Street shortly after 1:20 a.m. Police say a 1997 Ford Mustang was traveling north on 21st Street when it collided with an eastbound 1996 Chevrolet Suburban.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 48 year-old Alexander Taylor, was transported to University Medical Center by responding emergency crews for treatment of moderate injuries. Three teenage passengers of the Ford were transported to a nearby hospital. Information on the nature or extent of their injuries was not available.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. No charges have been filed in connection with the wreck.

The unidentified 46 year-old man was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on U.S. Highway 2 shortly after 10:00 a.m. Thursday, police say. The accident occurred a Ford Taurus attempted to turn onto the highway and drove into the path of the motorcycle. The two vehicles collided near mile marker 132, southwest of Columbia Falls.

According to highway patrol, the motorcycle’s driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. He was wearing a helmet, police say.

The driver of the Taurus, a 31 year-old Columbia Falls man, and his passenger, a 37 year-old Kalispell man, were not injured in the crash. They were both wearing seat belts.

Montana Highway Patrol officials continue to investigate the car accident.

According to officials with the Las Vegas Police Department, Ritzer was a passenger in a 2004 Mazda RX-8 which crashed shortly after 6:00 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Hollywood and Lake Mead boulevards. Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle, slid off the right side of the road, and struck a water manifold.

Ritzer and the driver were transported to University Medical Center following the crash. The driver was treated for moderate injuries. Ritzer was pronounced dead by hospital officials.

The crash remains under investigation.
